Recycling Facts

Electronic waste disposal and recycling has become a major issue due to the increased use of computers, cell phones, and other electronic
items. As consumers upgrade their hardware every few years, many retail stores and manufacturers have instituted take-back programs.

The volume of electronic waste generated worldwide is expected to climb by 33 percent by 2017 to 65 million tons,
according to a study conducted by a partnership of United Nations organizations, industry, governments and scientists.
